Training

Ohio requires 75 hours of CNA training in a state approved program, including 16 hours of clinical experiences. Additional CNA certifications require an additional 16 hours of training each beyond the long-term care aide training.

Testing

HEADMASTER performs CNA testing in Oklahoma. Qualifications for testing include:

  1. Candidate must have successfully completed an Oklahoma Department of Health approved Training Program within the last twenty-four months, or
  2. Candidate must successfully completed an Oklahoma Department of Health approved Training Program within the
    last twenty-four months, or
  3. Candidate’s Oklahoma NA certification expired within the past thirty-six months and  have enclosed approval letter from the Oklahoma State Department of Health approving me to take the Oklahoma nurse aide test.

PROMETRIC also performs CNA testing in Oklahoma. Qualifications for testing include:

  1. Candidate must have completed a state-approved nurse aide training
    program. 

EXAM FEES

Candidates who are employed by or who have a promise of employment from a Medicaid-certified nursing home are eligible to have their exam fees paid for by their nursing home employer.

Renewal

CNAs in Ohio are required to renew their CNA certification every 2 years.

The cost to renew is $10. 

The requirements for renewal are:

  1. CNAs must have worked a minimum of 8 hours of paid work within 24 months.
