4 Hour Med Tech Training

Experion offers a 4 Hour Med Tech class for those that require the certification to assist patients with medications in a Home Care or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) setting.  Med Techs are only utilized in those two specific settings; Med Techs DO NOT give medications in a hospital or nursing home setting.

The Med Tech Training Class will give you all the tools you need to assist patients with medications.  With an emphasis on safety, proper procedure is reviewed for oral medications, topical medications, eye drops, ear drops, inhalers, and intra-nasal medications.  This course covers documentation, side effects, allergies, label reading, safe storage and handling, over the counter and prescription medications, as-needed (PRN) medications, medical abbreviations and calling the physician for clarification.  Certification is given at the end of class.

The 4 Hour Med Tech is offered the second Saturday of each month from 12pm – 4pm.  The cost is $65, no pre-registration is necessary.
